Job description:
The Prince of Wales Hotel – Berkeley, Gloucestershire
Pay: £30,000 – £50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: On-site (Accommodation available for the right candidate)
Are you a hospitality leader who thrives on a challenge?
The Prince of Wales Hotel is undergoing a major rebuild and repositioning, and we are looking for a *driven, hands-on Dual Operations Manager* to lead the charge. This is not a "behind-the-desk" role. We need a serious, motivated professional who leads from the front and is ready to get stuck into the day-to-day operations of both the hotel and the restaurant.
The first 6 months will require significant dedication and operational focus. If you have the "can-do" attitude required to turn a business around and the grit to handle a fast-paced redevelopment phase, we want to hear from you.
The Role
You will oversee the entire daily operation, bridging the gap between front-of-house, housekeeping, and food and beverage. You will be responsible for rebuilding the guest journey, refining standards, and coaching a team to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Manage the full daily operations of the hotel and restaurant, including reception, F&B, and events.
- Hands-on Service: Lead by example during busy shifts—you aren't afraid to jump into service or support the kitchen when needed.
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and performance-manage a high-quality team from the ground up.
- Business Growth: Drive occupancy and restaurant covers while implementing SOPs to ensure long-term commercial success.
- Compliance: Maintain rigorous Health & Safety, Food Safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Problem Solving: Handle guest recovery professionally and implement systems to prevent future issues.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a serious applicant who views this as a career-defining project.
Minimum 2 years of management experience in a hospitality environment (Hotel & Restaurant experience preferred).
Track Record: Proven ability in team building and driving revenue. Experience in business "turnarounds" or improvements is a major plus.
Mindset: A strong work ethic, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive, "owner-operator" mentality.
Commitment: Resilience and the flexibility to work long hours when required during the initial 6-month growth phase.
