We're looking for a proactive, highly organised HR Administrator to join our HR team at Marsh Mills, Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is looking to build a career in Human Resources.
What you'll be doing
You'll play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle, ensuring our HR processes run smoothly, and helping to deliver an outstanding experience for colleagues across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate digital and physical employee files, such as contracts and personal details.
- Managing the onboarding process for new starters, including preparing contracts of employment, issuing compliance documentation and monitoring progress.
- Completing pre-employment checks, including employment and character references, credit checks and notifying relevant departments.
- Manage the HR email inbox, responding to enquiries promptly and directing queries to the appropriate team members where necessary.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including managing internal communities and organising company events such as charity coffee mornings.
- Supporting the HR Advisors with recruitment activities by assisting with recruitment events and candidate coordination where required.
- Booking hotel accommodation and train travel for training courses.
- Providing administrative support for HR projects and assisting the wider HR team as required.
What we're looking for
- Previous administrative experience (essential).
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A professional approach to handling confidential information.
- A willingness to learn and develop within an HR environment.
- CIPD Level 3 (desirable)

Salary
£25,350
Working schedule
37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
There is an opportunity to work from home one day per week following the successful completion of the probationary period.
