Chemistry Lab Technician
Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Chemistry Lab Technician to work in our busy food testing lab. Working in the Chemistry and Allergen labs, you will be responsible for preparing and carrying out analytical testing of food samples from food manufacturers.
The Job
You will be responsible for:
Performing various analytical tests on food samples.
Running and maintaining instrumentation within the Laboratory, including HPLC and GLC.
Ensuring all work complies with relevant HSE, Quality, Regulatory and Accreditation standards (UKAS, ISO 17025).
Sample preparation, extraction and clean-up using various techniques.
Calculation of results from testing and data entry into the company LIMS system.
Perform ELISA testing for various allergens.
Performing daily checks including balances, pipettes and instruments.
Work with senior teams to ensure lab quality control measures are met.
Other tasks as needed.
Mon-Fri 9am-5pm approx
The Candidate
To be considered for this position, candidates are expected to have an appropriate chemistry qualification to degree level.
This role would suit a recent Chemistry graduate who is looking to utilize their knowledge in a hands-on role in the food industry.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £14.63 per hour
