Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine love for animals and a keen eye for detail, ensuring each dog receives exceptional grooming services. This role offers an engaging environment where you can utilise your grooming skills while providing outstanding care and customer service to pet owners. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior experience or those eager to develop their expertise in animal grooming.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs to maintain cleanliness and coat health
Trimming fur, nails, and applying breed-specific grooming styles
Checking for skin conditions, parasites, or abnormalities during grooming sessions
Maintaining a clean and organised grooming area, including sanitising tools and equipment
Providing gentle handling and reassurance to nervous or anxious dogs
Communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences and aftercare instructions
Assisting with animal care tasks as needed, including feeding or behavioural observations
Ensuring all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff during grooming procedures

Experience

Previous veterinary experience or background in animal care is highly desirable
Proven experience in dog grooming, including trimming, bathing, and styling techniques
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners
Ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into tubs
A compassionate approach towards animals, demonstrating patience and gentle handling at all times
Willingness to learn new grooming techniques and stay updated on industry best practices
