An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate or a Principal Associate to join our Real Estate team within the Corporate Division in Leeds.
You will be :
- Advising on distressed and special situations real estate transactions, including accelerated disposals, pre-pack sales and insolvency-driven deals
- Acting for lenders, investors, PE houses and corporates on the acquisition and disposal of distressed and non-distressed property assets and portfolios
- Supporting insolvency practitioners on property-heavy restructurings, enforcement strategies and asset realisation
- Managing short-timetable transactions with complex title, occupational and financing issues
- Advising on corporate restructurings involving property assets, including group reorganisations,
- Working on corporate support transactions involving loan sales, security assignments, securitisations with a significant real estate component
- Collaborating closely with Restructuring & Insolvency, Banking and Real Estate and Corporate teams to deliver joined-up commercial solutions and advice
This role will see you focussing on all aspects of real estate work, from residential and commercial development, investment across a range of sectors including retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, industrial and residential. We would love to speak to you if you are familiar with these sectors, however experience in all these areas are not essential.
We put the client at the centre of everything we do and you will work with us to manage relationships with high-profile clients and help a number of household names deliver their business strategies. You will work closely with the partner in Leeds and also the team based in Manchester as well as working cross-office with colleagues in London and Birmingham to gain a broad experience of transactions and deliver and build on your commercial awareness to support clients’ strategic goals during whether that be restructuring and insolvency, funding or corporate support.
What do we need from you?
We’re looking for a motivated, driven, and commercially minded real estate lawyer with experience of drafting and negotiating leases, options, sale contracts. Ideally, but not essentially, you will also have an understanding of corporate acquisitions, and business sales, and enjoy the pace and teamwork of multi-disciplined transactions.
The team also advises on lease negotiations and management for retail, leisure, and licensed premises.
Depending on experience, you will be used to handling acquisitions and disposals of commercial property and working with funders on reviewing and structuring deals.
