Job Overview

Macdonald Operations Managers play a vital role in delivering a great guest experience to all our guests. They have a keen eye for detail, an organised approach and a willingness to exceed our guest expectation. Often operating on the front line, they are the real ambassadors of our company, and are committed to consistently delivering high standards.

Duties

Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across all departments including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance
Lead, supervise, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding guest experiences
Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimise efficiency and service quality
Manage guest relations, addressing complaints promptly and professionally to ensure high levels of satisfaction
Coordinate with human resources on recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and staff development programmes
Monitor financial performance, control costs, and optimise revenue streams
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and hotel industry standards
Organise staff schedules to meet operational demands while maintaining fair labour practices
Foster a welcoming environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement

Experience

Proven supervisory experience within the hotel industry is essential
Extensive hotel experience demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams effectively
Experience in human resources management including recruitment, training, and performance appraisals
Excellent guest service skills with a focus on delivering memorable experiences
Prior experience in hospitality management roles that involve overseeing multiple departments is preferred
