Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, replacing, and repairing windows in residential and commercial properties. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of tools and techniques, and contribute to high-quality building standards. A background in various construction trades is advantageous, as well as a commitment to safety and precision.

Duties

Measure and mark window openings accurately to ensure proper fitment
Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently
Install new windows using appropriate fixing methods, ensuring secure and level fitting
Seal and insulate around window frames to prevent draughts and water ingress
Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and levels to complete installations
Operate power tools including drills, saws, and sanders with care and precision
Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining safety standards
Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with specifications
Assist with related tasks such as minor carpentry, roofing, or masonry work when required

Qualifications

Proven experience in carpentry, roofing, or general construction work is desirable
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in window fitting and fabrication
Knowledge of construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical systems, or fabrication is advantageous but not essential
Ability to interpret technical drawings and measurements accurately
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights safely
Commitment to health & safety regulations on site
Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
