Location: Holme Grange Craft Village, Wokingham, Berkshire
Job Type: Full-Time (Minimum 35 hours per week)
Pay: £13.00 per hour
Typical Working Days: Wednesday to Sunday (Weekend and Bank Holiday working required)

The Role
This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same. As our Retail & Events Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while helping to ensure the store runs smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety. On any given day you could be helping a new collector choose their first Pokémon products, organising thousands of trading cards, preparing for a major tournament, processing deliveries, or ensuring the store is presented to the highest standard.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys interacting with people, and is happy to roll up their sleeves and help wherever needed. If you’re passionate about the hobby and want to help grow one of the South’s leading trading card game stores, we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering outstanding customer service
- Pricing and processing stock
- Restocking display binders and shelves
- Sorting and organising trading cards and bulk stock
- Maintaining attractive product displays
- Merchandising and replenishing shelves
- Operating the till and processing transactions
- Assisting customers with product advice and recommendations
- Supporting tournaments, organised play, and community events
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the store
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the business
Essential Requirements
- Good knowledge of Trading Card Games, including but not limited to Pokémon
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Proficiency in mathematics and confidence working with numbers
- Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with an excellent work ethic
Desirable (but not essential)
- Previous retail experience
- Knowledge of additional TCGs such as Disney Lorcana, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other hobby games
- Experience handling collectibles, trading cards, or hobby products
