Role Overview
The AI Health Technology Research Specialist will support research and evaluation of emerging technologies within the healthcare sector. The role combines healthcare technology research, data analysis, technology assessment, and strategic reporting to identify practical opportunities for digital solutions that can improve healthcare services and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health Technology Research & Evaluation
- Investigate emerging digital technologies and their potential applications within healthcare.
- Assess AI, connected devices, monitoring technologies, and data-driven healthcare solutions.
- Compare available technologies, platforms, and approaches to determine their suitability for healthcare applications.
- Evaluate the technical, operational, and practical considerations associated with proposed solutions.
2. Healthcare Research & Evidence Analysis
- Examine academic literature, industry publications, research findings, and technology developments relevant to digital healthcare.
- Analyse evidence relating to healthcare technology adoption, implementation, and service improvement.
- Identify research gaps, emerging opportunities, and areas where technology could address existing healthcare challenges.
- Prepare structured research findings for internal technical and strategic discussions.
3. Digital Health Solution Development Support
- Convert research findings into clear technology requirements and development considerations.
- Contribute to feasibility studies, solution assessments, and early-stage product concepts.
- Define functional considerations for healthcare applications, including data collection, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Work with technical teams to ensure research findings can be translated into practical technology solutions.
4. Healthcare Data & AI Analysis
- Examine the use of AI and analytical techniques within healthcare applications.
- Research approaches for collecting, processing, and interpreting healthcare-related datasets.
- Support the development of requirements for data-driven healthcare features and analytical tools.
- Consider data quality, privacy, security, and responsible use of healthcare information.
5. Market & Industry Intelligence
- Monitor developments across the global digital health and healthcare technology market.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis covering emerging products, technologies, and business models.
- Assess market opportunities and barriers affecting adoption of healthcare technologies.
- Prepare research reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and business teams.
6. Collaboration & Research Reporting
- Work with technical, research, healthcare, and commercial teams throughout research activities.
- Support discussions with external technology providers, research organisations, and healthcare-related partners.
- Present research findings and technology assessments in a clear and structured manner.
- Maintain accurate records of research activities, findings, sources, and recommendations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree, postgraduate qualification, or equivalent experience in Digital Health, Healthcare Technology, Health Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Professional experience in healthcare technology research, digital health, health innovation, or technology evaluation.
- Understanding of AI, data-driven technologies, or emerging digital solutions within healthcare.
- Experience conducting structured research and analysing technical or healthcare information.
- Strong analytical, written communication, presentation, and report preparation skills.
- Ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to healthcare technology implementation or adoption studies.
- Experience with healthcare data, connected health devices, digital monitoring, or AI applications.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, data protection, and responsible technology practices.
- Experience conducting international healthcare or technology market research.
- Experience working with universities, research organisations, healthcare providers, or technology partners.
- Additional language skills relevant to international research and partnership activities.
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Egham TW20 8HE
