North Wales and BCUHB continue to develop and improve our stroke services. We now have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Acute Stroke Team working as a Multi-Profession Rehabilitation Assistant (MPRA). Through a comprehensive training programme you will develop and demonstrate the skills to work with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and dietitians, supporting and enhancing rehabilitation for people who are recovering from a stroke.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about neurological rehabilitation and empowering people. You will need to be self-motivated, compassionate, and able to work with a large and varied team, with the desire to continually learn new skills and adapt to a changing rehabilitation environment. Recent and relevant experience in a therapy healthcare setting is therefore essential. Proficient computer skills are also essential as documentation is electronic.
The posts will involve a wide range of duties including delivering therapy programmes with a holistic approach and under the supervision of qualified therapists, facilitating daily rehabilitation and acute care in line with national standards, delivering individual therapy sessions, gathering data to support stroke service audit (including updating the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme electronic database), and supporting the ongoing development of stroke services in the region.
The team are based in Glan Clwyd Hospital but the successful applicant may be asked to support the ESD and Rehab services across Conwy and Denbighshire if service requires.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
