Full job description

Moulton is a land-based College based in rural Northamptonshire. We offer impressive new facilities, on-site commercial enterprise and a range of FE and HE courses. We are looking for a Lecturer – Animal Welfare & Management to ensure the Animal Welfare department continues to run at a high standard.

Interviews for this role will be taking place 14 August 2026

Please note this role is due to start Mid-August.

Your duties

You will deliver Animal Welfare courses whilst participating in Curriculum development to meet the needs of changing industrial demand and College development. You will also tutor and manage one or more courses or groups of students and participate in demonstrations and practical activities.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate able to provide Further Education and Higher Education delivery.

Person specification

Applicants must have a broad range of knowledge and industry experience working with a wide range of animals, including small mammals, exotics and large animals and husbandry experience. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge base and hold a BSc or equivalent in Animal Science or a related subject.

You will hold or be willing to work towards and achieve a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent. Previous experience of working with young people would be an advantage although not essential. You will have obtained a minimum of grade C or equivalent in GCSE English & Maths, and be able to demonstrate your commitment to ongoing CPD.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates that hold an MSc/MA or PhD in a relevant subject area.
