Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Warehouse Administrator/Planner to join our logistics team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse activities, including inventory management, order fulfilment, and transportation planning. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain processes, warehouse management systems, and logistics operations, contributing to efficient materials handling and shipping procedures.
Duties
- Manage category inventories and optimise stock levels through effective category management strategies.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods.
- Utilise Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to plan and monitor warehouse operations.
- Oversee process improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline transportation and distribution activities.
- Analyse data related to inventory levels, order processing, and logistics performance to inform decision-making.
- Schedule and coordinate materials handling activities, including picking & packing operations.
- Operate forklift trucks where necessary, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with shipping & receiving protocols and maintain accurate documentation for all transactions.
- Assist in implementing supply chain strategies that optimise workflow from procurement to delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse administration or planning roles with strong knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and TMS platforms.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret logistics metrics and improve processes.
- Familiarity with category management techniques and process improvement methodologies.
- Experience with transportation management, shipping & receiving procedures, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics providers.
