Overview
Great work hours. Your normal rota will be SUN 7-11, MON 7-3, TUE&WED-off, THU 7-12, FRI 7-3, SAT 7-12 =30hrs. Great tips: you will typically earn an additional £3/hr, which would make your real earnings about £16/hr initially, with a guaranteed pay increase after successful completion of probation.
If you want to work more than 30 hrs per week there are more shifts available but you are not required to work more than 30 hrs/wk
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Cleaning & Maintenance Manager to look after the requirements within our restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess management skills and a track record in supervising teams. If you are generally an organised and tidy person then this position might suit you. If you are ambitious then this position will have opportunities in line with the growth of the company.
The maintenance part of this position requires you to regularly assess the restaurant equipment, ensure that it is serviced, repaired and replaced, and ensure the safety and efficiency of our facilities. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing maintenance activities across various departments, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to safety standards.
The cleaning part of this position requires team coaching skills. you will be responsible for recruiting and training a small team of KPs. You will also begin each day with routine restaurant cleaning duties. You will be responsible for checking that all cleaning, temperature checks, service and licensing paperwork is up to date. You will make regular itinerary checks on equipment. Good admin skills are an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train and lead a small team of Kitchen Porters to deliver high-quality service.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to optimise equipment lifespan and reduce unplanned breakdowns.
- Oversee the execution of maintenance projects, including planning, scheduling, and quality control.
- Personally attend to the restaurants daily cleaning requirements.
- Cleaning & Maintenance admin. Ensuring that the team are keeping required records up to date.
- Supervise routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and parts inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safety protocols.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training programmes and leadership development initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience of leading a team within a maintenance &/or cleaning environment. Restaurant experience an advantage too.
- Project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Fluency in English is required for effective communication across teams and documentation purposes.
