Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Co ordinator to join our team in providing enriching experiences for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those in nursing and assisted living environments. This role involves creating, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities tailored to the needs of residents, including those with dementia care requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate a comprehensive activities programme that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being for all residents.
Facilitate group and individual activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities, ensuring inclusivity for all participants.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation and gather feedback on activities.
Assess the needs and preferences of residents regularly to adapt the activities programme accordingly.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of care needs, particularly those requiring dementia care.
Maintain accurate records of participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programmes in enhancing resident satisfaction and engagement.
Organise special events and outings that foster community involvement and enhance the overall experience for residents.

Experience

Previous experience in a similar role within a care home or nursing home setting is highly desirable.
Strong background in senior care or assisted living environments, demonstrating an understanding of the unique needs of elderly individuals.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
A creative approach to planning activities that cater to a range of interests while considering cognitive abilities related to dementia care.
Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational skills in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
