The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.
Hourly rate of pay: £13.95 - £14.83
This is a 39-week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.

East Lothian Council seek to appoint a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Senior Business Support Assistant to support the administration tasks for The Brae, Rosehill High School. The Brae is the severe and complex needs provision attached to Rosehill High School, on the Wallyford Learning Campus. Our S1-S4 school roll currently sits at around 586 and includes 41 young people in our severe and complex needs provision, with a future projected pupil roll of 1000+ in S1-6
Experience of working in a school setting is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.
Good communication and numeracy skills are required along with a commitment to deliver a high quality of customer experience.
The role of a Senior Business Support Assistant in a secondary education setting requires candidates who have an ability to to establish good working relationships and an ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced and dynamic office environment, you will be expected to work independently and with confidence to deliver a high level of customer experience.
The secondary facility is designed to support creative approaches to learning, with a range of adaptive teaching spaces. Alongside up to date and digitally enabled classrooms, there is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) plaza, a Learning Resource Centre, extensive facilities to support the arts, and a state of the art sport and leisure complex. Learning and teaching on the campus will go beyond the traditional classroom and encompass outdoor learning and sustainability. The campus also includes a number of community and health spaces to support collaboration between a range of professionals and sectors.
The successful candidate will be based in the main school office working closely with The DHT (The Brae), Teaching staff and Business Manager to deliver core administration for The Brae, and additional partners, as required.

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to ‘Higher’ level, NC or SVQ level 2 in English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.
