An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Housing team to deliver our Care & Repair service, supporting disabled people to modify their homes so they can live independently. The position is for 1.0 FTE (37 hours) per week, Monday to Friday. This is a fixed term post up to 31 March 2028.
You will bring your domestic construction knowledge and experience to make a difference to the lives of disabled people. You will work closely with occupational therapists, caseworkers, social workers, contractors and residents to design adaptations and resolve home repairs problems. You will act as an agent to the resident, procuring designs and specifications, submitting planning and building regulation applications, evaluating tenders, and overseeing building works on site through to final payment stage. You must be able to demonstrate the competencies required in the Building Safety Act 2022 to as Principal Designer and have a good working knowledge of CRM Regulations.
You will work as part of a team of 6 technical officers, including a senior technical officer, and alongside a team of caseworkers, wellbeing officer and early intervention officers. The team work on a hybrid basis; predominantly working from home but also working in our Crewe office at least 1 day per week. We will provide the appropriate IT equipment to enable this.

- Extensive knowledge of domestic construction methods;
- Proficient computer aided design skills and fluency to produce comprehensive specifications;
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
- Good problem solving skills;
- Knowledge of building contracts.
