We are seeking a highly creative and commercially minded Creative Designer to join our team. This is an exciting hands-on role for an experienced designer with a passion for product design, apparel, and developing innovative products that resonate with a country audience.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of equestrian, pet and country products, apparel, accessories, packaging and branding across our portfolio of brands. Working closely with the Buying/Merchandise, Marketing and Sales teams, you will be responsible for translating product concepts into commercially viable designs, producing detailed product specifications, and supporting the development process from concept through to production.
Alongside product design responsibilities, you will support the creation of marketing materials and visual assets that help bring our brands and products to life across retail, digital and trade channels. You will take ownership of photography, attend photoshoots and create imagery/content ensuring all visual content aligns with brand standards and campaign objectives.
Battles Group comprises of several well-known brands and is an award-winning manufacturer and leading provider of major animal health, equestrian and pet care brands worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative equestrian products, eg horse rugs, apparel, accessories, packaging and product ranges.
- Produce detailed product specifications, technical drawings, artwork files and development packs to support product process.
- Work closely with Buying/Merchandise team to create commercially successful products that meet customer needs, market trends and business objectives.
- Support the product development process from initial concept through sampling, revisions and final production.
- Research industry trends, lifestyle trends, materials, fabrics, design innovations, competitor products and opportunities.
- Develop product branding, packaging concepts, labels, swing tags and associated product graphics.
- Create presentations and concepts to support internal reviews.
- Design and produce supporting marketing assets for product launches, brochures, trade shows, websites, social media, email marketing, etc where required.
- Work across multiple brands, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Prepare artwork for suppliers or commercial print production, ensuring all files are supplied accurately and to specification.
- Maintain organised product and creative asset libraries, technical documentation and design files.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Contribute creative ideas and product innovation concepts to support future range development and business growth.
- Photography, videography and editing skills
- Plan, organise, direct, and execute studio and lifestyle photography projects.
- Capture, edit, retouch, and optimise photography.
- Support and attend photoshoots, capturing photography and video content for marketing and social media purposes.
- Create and edit video content, motion graphics, and short-form content where required. Videography experience would be advantageous.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Graphic Design, Creative Design, Brand Design, or Marketing Design role.
- Proven experience working in a creative position with responsibility for delivering multi-channel assets.
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating expertise across graphic design, branding, marketing, packaging, digital content, and photography.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of print production processes, artwork preparation, colour management, and supplying print-ready files.
- Extensive experience creating digital assets for websites, social media platforms, email marketing systems, and online advertising channels.
- Experience with Mailchimp would be advantageous.
- Photography experience, including both studio and lifestyle photography.
- Strong photo editing, retouching, and image manipulation skills.
- Videography and video editing experience would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, audience engagement, and platform-specific requirements.
- Experience working within e-commerce environments would be beneficial.
- Commercially aware, with a good understanding of how creative content supports brand growth, customer engagement, and sales performance.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualification to degree level would be an advantage.
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
