Management Unit Commercial Manager

Sub Division: Facilities Management

Location: Bridgend (Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours - Monday to Friday

Purpose of Role

We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to take ownership of a high-profile £11m FM contract supporting the Welsh Government and Swansea University.

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical services across a multi-site portfolio, covering cleaning, soft FM, and security, while driving commercial performance and value.

Responsibilities

Leading the commercial and financial management of the contract
Managing client relationships and acting as the primary commercial contact
Overseeing cost control, forecasting, and financial governance
Handling valuations, applications for payment, and change management
Producing month-end reporting and commercial insights (SAP-based systems)
Driving commercial risk management and identifying opportunities for value
Supporting supply chain management, procurement, and negotiations
Partnering with operational teams to ensure contract success
Mentoring and developing junior commercial team members

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS
Background in FM, construction, or service-based contracts
Strong financial, contractual, and commercial acumen
Experience managing complex contracts (ideally £5m+)
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Advanced Excel and reporting capability
Knowledge of public sector environments (desirable)
