Full job description

Envases UK is a manufacturing company that has been operating out of Port Talbot since 1993 which has experienced steady and sustained growth based on a combination of global blue chip and smaller bespoke customer bases. Envases UK is part of the Envases group, which also incorporates a sister Company in Bilbao, Spain. The site at Port Talbot is a "state of the art"  facility in which Envases manufactures aluminum aerosol containers that are used in personal care, healthcare and pharmaceutical products.

Envases strives for excellence in its operations and support functions in order to service the core Blue Chip customers that form a significant portion of its business. Due to this Envases has created a new role and is seeking to employ a Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.
Assist with breakdowns as required including out of hours assistance.
Actively support promote and drive the maintenance systems.
Upkeep of reports/records and software.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Supervise Shift Engineers, Apprentices and Contractors.
Actively participate in machinery improvements.
Carry out root cause analysis.
Maintain shift cover during abnormal absence/sickness periods.
Able to create CAD drawings.
Actively promote teamwork.
Liaise with other departments.

Knowledge and Skills:

HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable).
5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at A-C grade which will include English, Mathematics and Science (essential).
Previous experience in a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment (essential).
Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace (desirable).
Previous experience reacting to mechanical breakdowns (essential).
Experience in analytical problem solving (essential).
Experience in leading a team (desirable).
Hands on Approach.
Self-motivating.
Manage workload.
Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
Attention to detail.
Good timekeeping.
Be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
Machining and Welding.
Excellent analytical skills.
Computer literacy.
