Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and personable Shop Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, supporting administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop. This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in a dynamic retail environment, with a focus on delivering a positive experience for all visitors and customers.

Duties

Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries in a professional manner
Operating IT systems to process sales, manage stock levels, and update records accuratel
Handling cash transactions and maintaining the till with precision
Organising stock displays and ensuring the shop floor remains tidy and inviting
Supporting administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and inventory management
Providing information about products and services to enhance customer experience
Assisting in organising promotional events or special offers within the shop
Maintaining health and safety standards in accordance with company policies

Experience

Previous experience in customer service or retail is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Basic IT skills, including familiarity with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office programmes
Administrative experience is advantageous but not mandatory; organisational skills are valued highly
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
