Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Shop Floor Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting daily operations on the shop floor, engaging with customers, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in multiple languages, particularly English and Spanish, is highly desirable to assist our diverse customer base. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to develop their retail skills and contribute positively to our organisation.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide assistance with product selection and enquiries
Support merchandising efforts by organising products on shelves and displays according to company standards
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor
Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
Manage stock levels, including replenishment and rotation of items
Handle customer transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system
Provide excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer calls or inquiries
Support team members with organisational tasks to ensure smooth daily operations
Assist in visual merchandising to enhance store presentation and attract customers

Skills

Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is advantageous
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock management
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently
Good phone etiquette for professional customer interactions
Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales performance
Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are considered a significant asset
Organised with the ability to multitask in a busy retail environment
