Are you ready to take on the challenges and rewards of a career in planning and development? We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Planning Service as a Development Management Officer.

Our Development Management Team plays a vital role in shaping the city and its surrounding countryside, assessing a wide range of development proposals—from local applications to major strategic schemes.

In this role, you'll be trained to manage a diverse caseload of planning and related applications, building valuable experience and developing your professional expertise. You'll also work alongside experienced Principal Planners, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects such as city centre developments and sustainable urban extensions.

We're committed to the growth and success of our officers. You'll benefit from structured internal training, opportunities to contribute to service improvement projects, and the potential to work towards professional accreditation with the Royal Town Planning Institute.
