Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet client specifications. The position involves working both independently and as part of a team, delivering professional decorating services across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes.
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care.
- Decorate walls, ceilings, woodwork, fixtures, and other surfaces according to project specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any issues encountered.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition; organise supplies for efficient workflow.
- Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate finishes as required by clients or project managers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.
- Good command of English language skills for effective communication with clients and team members.
- Strong communication skills are essential for understanding project requirements and liaising with clients professionally.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail coupled with organisational skills to ensure neatness and quality of work.
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks such as lifting equipment and working at heights if required.
