Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Flood and Fire Restoration Technician to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring properties affected by water and fire damage, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. The technician will be involved in hands-on tasks requiring physical labour, attention to detail, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assess damage caused by floods or fires and determine appropriate restoration procedures
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently during restoration projects
- Remove debris, damaged materials, and standing water from affected areas
- Use specialised equipment to dry out structures and prevent mould growth
- Perform cleaning, sanitising, and deodorising of affected surfaces and materials
- Assist with the reconstruction process, including minor repairs and installations as needed
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored after use
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times to minimise risks during restoration activities
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding project progress and safety procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in construction, property maintenance, or related trades is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Familiarity with hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, saws, etc. is desirable
- Experience using power tools safely in a professional setting is preferred
- Ability to work physically demanding shifts in various environments, often requiring lifting and manual labour
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety compliance are essential
- A valid UK driving licence is beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to travel between sites is required
