Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape our menu offerings and inspire a talented team in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
Oversee food production, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation across all dishes
Develop innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
Manage food preparation processes, including cooking, plating, and portion control
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs effectively
Train and mentor staff on culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain organisation of kitchen operations during busy periods and ensure timely completion of orders
Uphold the restaurant’s reputation by delivering exceptional dining experiences consistently

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food preparation and cooking techniques
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations in the hospitality industry
Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality setting is essential
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
Passion for innovation in cuisine and dedication to high-quality service standards
Experience in serving customers directly is advantageous but not mandatory
