Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator (Temporary) to bring energy, creativity, and engagement to our residents. In this vital role, you will design and facilitate a variety of stimulating activities that promote social interaction, mental well-being, and overall quality of life for residents. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a vibrant community environment where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired every day. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults through engaging programming tailored to their interests and needs.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and execute diverse activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care requirements
Lead group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and outings that foster socialization and enjoyment
Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
Encourage participation from all residents by creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that promotes independence and fun
Monitor residents’ responses to activities, adjusting plans as needed to maximize engagement and safety
Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to inform future programming
Promote communication with families and staff about upcoming events and resident achievements

Experience

Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s support strategies
Proven ability to organize engaging activities tailored for older adults with diverse needs
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
Experience working with individuals requiring specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer’s is advantageous
Familiarity with caregiving roles within a care home setting enhances understanding of resident needs
