Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for new installations, maintenance and repair services for automatic gates and barriers in the south east of England - mainly Kent, Sussex, Surrey and the south of London. We avoid the middle of London.
Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Carry out complete gate and automation installations from scratch, with assistance on larger jobs and for heavy lifting. We have a trailer mounted crane for heavy gates and posts.
- Utilise hand tools and specialised diagnostic devices to identify faults and perform repairs efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform on-site equipment repairs, upgrades, and system installations as required.
- Document all service activities accurately in company systems, including detailed reports of issues identified and actions taken.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all service activities.
Requirements
- Proven relevant knowledge in the perimeter security industry, with experience in equipment repair and maintenance of automatic gates/barriers and associated access control
- Proficiency with hand tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams such as schematics for electrical or mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage your days within pre-planned scheduling
- Flexibility to travel frequently to client sites across different locations as required.
- Valid UK driving licence is essential for travel between sites.

Pay: £28,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
