Kent Structures is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Contracts Manager to support the successful delivery of innovative, sustainable construction projects.
Working alongside our Contracts Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, compliantly and profitably. If you have experience in project administration, contracts co-ordination or construction support and are ready to progress into a management role, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
As Assistant Contracts Manager, you'll support the delivery of projects from initial handover through to completion, ensuring documentation, compliance, resource planning and commercial administration are managed efficiently.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Administration & Compliance
- Support the Contracts Manager throughout the full project lifecycle.
- Prepare, submit and monitor project documentation, including:
- DNO applications
- RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
- Pre-construction documentation
- Project certifications
- Maintain accurate document control and contractual records.
- Manage change orders and assist with project compliance and audits.
- Review daily site reports, surveys and photographs, compiling clear progress reports for distribution.
Resource Planning & Scheduling
- Co-ordinate labour, materials, plant, lifting equipment and specialist resources.
- Schedule works and communicate updates with internal teams, subcontractors and installation teams.
- Assist with the smooth handover of completed projects to the Operations & Maintenance team.
Commercial Support
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, site managers and colleagues.
- Support material tracking, revenue reporting and project forecasting.
- Identify and escalate commercial issues or project risks promptly.
- Help ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and keen to develop into a Contracts Manager.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in project administration, contracts co-ordination or a similar construction-based role.
- A sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance documentation, including RAMS.
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Comfortable using digital project management software.
Ideal Background
