Location: London OR Newbury + Hybrid
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

We’re looking for an Associate Agentic Engineer to join our state-of-the-art Agentic Engineering team. This role is ideal for individuals starting their journey in AI-native software engineering. You will learn how to use AI responsibly to accelerate analysis, implementation, testing and documentation, while maintaining human accountability for quality and security. With support from experienced engineers, you will contribute to full-stack features, repeatable prompts, simple automations and reusable playbooks that help teams improve how they deliver software.

What you’ll do

You’ll step into a career-defining opportunity where you’ll help shape the future of AI-powered software engineering in one of the UK’s most exciting network transformations. As part of a pioneering Agentic Engineering team, you’ll use AI responsibly to accelerate how software is built—while learning from experienced engineers and contributing to meaningful, real-world solutions.

You’ll deliver clean, tested, full-stack code for well-scoped features, with support from experienced teammates
You’ll use AI tools thoughtfully to speed up analysis, development, testing, and documentation—while staying accountable for quality and security
You’ll contribute to agentic workflows, including breaking down tasks, generating and reviewing code, and supporting testing and documentation
You’ll build simple integrations and tool connections (like internal APIs), following established best practices
You’ll work within microservices and service-based environments, learning how systems connect and operate at scale
You’ll collaborate through code reviews, pair programming, retrospectives, and engineering communities—growing through feedback
You’ll create and share reusable prompts, playbooks, and workflows to help others adopt smarter ways of working
You’ll support debugging and troubleshooting, building strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
You’ll follow secure engineering practices and contribute to high standards in testing, quality, and operational excellence
You’ll continuously learn, experiment with new AI-enabled approaches, and share insights with your team

Who you are

You’re curious about software engineering and excited by the potential of AI in development
You have a basic foundation in programming (front-end, APIs, data structures, testing, and debugging)
You’ve built small applications or components and understand both front-end and back-end concepts
You’re familiar with version control and collaborative development practices (like pull requests)
You’re interested in AI-assisted development and open to learning how to use it responsibly
You have a basic understanding of APIs, microservices, or service-based architectures (or a strong willingness to learn)
You care about writing clean, readable code and understand the importance of testing and security basics
You communicate clearly—sharing what you’ve built, what you’ve learned, and when you need support
You bring a growth mindset, ask thoughtful questions, and embrace feedback to improve quickly
You enjoy collaborating, learning with others, and contributing to an inclusive engineering culture
