We are delighted to offer a unique development opportunity within our Cancer/Oncology Day Unit Services to help shape the future of the cancer workforce. The ACCEND programme is transforming how we support, educate, and develop everyone involved in caring for people affected by cancer — and we are looking for someone who wants to be part of that change.
In this role, you will work alongside our Oncology Specialty Educator and Lead Cancer Nurse, collaborating with teams across the service to embed the ACCEND framework and strengthen career pathways.

Strong understanding of ACCEND and cancer care pathways
Proven leadership experience

- Assist in Organising, developing and delivering clinical training programmes to meet the learning needs of the target audience within the specialty (ACCEND)
- Act as a clinical resource to colleagues by guiding practice developments, assessing competence and supporting implementation of policies
- Promote a lifelong learning culture providing a high level of professionalism in the delivery of training
- Challenge practice and identify competency issues
- Support the implementation and sustainability of clinical supervision
- Ensure production of transparent data and reports on activity.
- Uphold high levels of clinical practice
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. Working as a core member of the cancer and oncology team you will assist in the education of staff or patients within the specialty - related to ACCEND
You will work alongside other specialities and professional groups to promote and maintain education and development in relation to ACCEND and support the implementation of the framework
