We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join us as a Wastewater Treatment Process Manager at Bran Sands Wastewater Treatment Works. This is a pivotal leadership role within our Wastewater team, with overall responsibility for Bioresources processing, gas‑to‑grid operations, and regulatory compliance at one of our key sites.
As the team lead and primary point of contact for these activities, you’ll play a critical role in delivering our Bioresources strategy. You’ll be responsible for the successful planning and execution of legislative shutdowns and essential maintenance, while ensuring the plant continues to operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
The role includes first‑line management of a team of Process Technicians and Operators, balancing commercial performance with the continued delivery of our excellent compliance record. You’ll provide strong, visible leadership on site, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Beyond day‑to‑day operations, this role has a wider strategic reach. You’ll work closely with the Bioresources team and the broader Wastewater department, contributing to efficiency and innovation projects and supporting the development of smarter, more sustainable ways of working. From site‑level operations through to wider departmental initiatives, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on environmental performance and service delivery.

About you
We’re looking to speak with people who can bring a strong blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to the role. You’ll be highly motivated, with the ability to balance the demands of leading and engaging a team while operating within a fast‑paced, constantly evolving production environment. You’ll have proven technical knowledge of wastewater sludge and wastewater treatment processes, combined with a leadership style that values collaboration, engagement, and teamwork.
Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, as you’ll be required to clearly convey information, influence others, and work effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders. You’ll be a confident problem‑solver, able to respond quickly when issues arise, fully understand the root cause, and identify effective solutions that work in both the short and long term.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in applying quality systems and procedures, who can build and maintain positive, productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll also be comfortable constructively challenging existing practices, bringing fresh thinking and a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.
