Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fencing Erector. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing various types of fencing on residential, commercial, and industrial sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent physical stamina, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment.
Duties
- Measure and mark out fencing lines according to project specifications
- Prepare the site by clearing debris and ensuring a level foundation for fencing installation
- Erect fence posts using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring stability and safety standards are met
- Install panels, boards, wire mesh, or other fencing materials securely between posts
- Use hand tools (such as hammers, screwdrivers) and power tools (such as drills, saws) effectively during installation
- Fabricate custom fencing components as needed using welding or fabrication techniques
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Assist with site preparation and clean-up following project completion
Skills
- Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, roofing, or general construction work is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in fencing installation and fabrication
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for precise measurements and secure installations
- Good teamwork ethic with effective communication skills
- Basic understanding of health & safety practices relevant to construction sites
Full driving licence required.
