About Us
We are a well-established independent hydroponic and horticultural supplies business based in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, with over 22 years of trading experience. We supply customers through eBay, Amazon, our own website, and directly from our trade counter within our unit.
As a small close-knit team, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly, hardworking environment. This role offers the opportunity to become an important part of the business, with a varied day-to-day workload and genuine responsibility.
The Role
This is a varied hands-on role combining warehouse operations, customer service, stock management, and online order fulfilment. The successful candidate will help support the smooth day-to-day running of the business across multiple areas.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a small business environment where flexibility, initiative, and teamwork are important.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and dispatching daily customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Packing orders in line with company procedures and standards
- Assisting with warehouse operations and stock organisation
- Stock ordering from multiple suppliers
- Maintaining accurate stock control and inventory levels
- Serving and assisting walk-in customers
- Supporting online sales operations across eBay, Amazon, and our website
- General administration and IT-related tasks
- Manual handling and lifting of stock/products
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Assisting with day-to-day business operations and problem-solving
- Responding to daily customer enquiries and resolving issues via email and online messaging platforms
- Providing professional and efficient after-sales support for mail order customers
- Investigating and resolving order, delivery, and product-related queries
Requirements
- Good IT and computer skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Comfortable with manual handling and warehouse duties
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous but not essential:
- Warehouse or dispatch experience
- Experience with eCommerce platforms such as eBay or Amazon
- Stock management/inventory control experience
- Interest or knowledge in horticulture or hydroponics
