About the Role

We’re launching an exciting new three‑year project to improve wellbeing across Nettlesworth, Kimblesworth, Plawsworth, Sacriston and surrounding areas. As our Wellbeing Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of this work—supporting volunteers, creating new groups, and helping local residents feel more connected, confident and supported.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys being part of the community, working with volunteers, and bringing new ideas to life.

What You’ll Do

Recruit, train and support our volunteer Wellbeing Champions
Set up and run our brand‑new Wellbeing Café
Develop new wellbeing groups and activities for local people
Build partnerships with organisations who can offer advice, support and sessions at the Centre
Promote groups, services and training opportunities
Create volunteering policies, induction materials and simple publicity
Support partner agencies to deliver new groups
Collect feedback, stories and data to help us monitor the project
Work closely with the Centre Manager, trustees and volunteers

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:

Approachable, friendly and community‑minded
Confident working with volunteers and local residents
Organised, proactive and able to run activities independently
Comfortable working flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends
Skilled at building relationships and communicating clearly
Experienced in delivering groups, training or community activities
Able to use IT confidently and create simple publicity materials
Knowledgeable about safeguarding and the challenges local people may face

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience using Canva, Publisher or similar
Mental Health First Aid, Food Safety Level 2 or First Aid certificate
Understanding of consultation or evaluation methods
Knowledge of the Rainbow Model
