Full job description

About Us:
Metal Fabrication Systems Ltd is a leading provider of steel fabrication services, specializing in Heavy Engineering Fabrications. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship and precision, we are expanding our team to meet increasing demand. We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Platers to join our growing workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical specifications
Mark out, cut, and shape heavy steel components using appropriate tools and equipment
Assemble structural fabrications to tight tolerances to pass to welders for final assembly
Tack Welding
Liaise with welders, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow
Conduct self-inspections and ensure all work meets required quality standards
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies and health & safety regulations

Requirements:

Proven experience as a plater in a heavy engineering in a fabrication environment
Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and materials
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Trade qualification or relevant fabrication certification (preferred)
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality
Physically fit and capable of handling demanding tasks
