Receptionist/Administrator (Part-Time)

Job Summary
Weaverham Surgery is looking to recruit two part-time Receptionist/Administrators to join our busy, friendly, and supportive General Practice team.
The successful candidates will work two full days per week (8:00am–6:30pm) with an unpaid one-hour lunch break.
We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic individuals who are flexible and willing to provide additional cover for annual leave and sickness when required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to providing excellent patient care.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will be responsible for receiving, assisting and directing patients to the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and compassionate manner. You will also provide administrative support to the wider practice team while maintaining a positive and professional image of the surgery, both in person and over the telephone.
Main Duties of the Role
The successful applicant will:
- Provide a welcoming and professional reception service to patients and visitors.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously, directing calls and taking messages where appropriate.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments accurately.
- Identify patients requiring urgent medical attention and ensure they are appropriately signposted.
- Respond to patient enquiries or refer them to the appropriate member of the practice team.
- Cover all reception positions as required.
- Arrange ambulance transport requests and accurately record all relevant information within the patient's medical record.
- Process, scan and file correspondence and clinical documents into the correct patient records.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the clinical computer system.
- Support colleagues with administrative duties as required.
- Complete delegated tasks from the Operations Manager or Practice Manager, including private work and developing skills in other areas of the practice.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.

- Previous reception, administration or customer service experience (experience in General Practice is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided).
