Job Summary
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all logistics and supply chain activities of the company to ensure the efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of food products, supplies, and equipment. The role involves managing inventory, transportation, warehousing, and delivery operations while maintaining high standards of service, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency. The Logistics Manager works closely with suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and uninterrupted supply of goods.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organise, and manage the company's logistics and supply chain operations.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of food products and catering supplies.
Monitor stock levels and implement effective inventory control procedures.
Oversee warehouse and dispatch operations to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
Develop and maintain transportation schedules and delivery routes.
Manage relationships with suppliers, couriers, and transport service providers.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
Analyse logistics performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Prepare reports on stock levels, deliveries, operational performance, and budgets.
Supervise, train, and support logistics and warehouse staff.
Investigate and resolve logistics issues, delays, and customer service concerns.
Implement and maintain logistics management systems and operational procedures.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Develop contingency plans to minimise disruptions in the supply chain.
Ensure accurate record-keeping and maintenance of all logistics documentation.

Skills and Experience Required

Proven experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse, or distribution management.
Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of inventory control and logistics software systems.
Understanding of transport regulations, food safety, and health and safety requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Pay: £34,300.00 per year
