Forests Without Frontiers (FWF), a Brighton-based Community Interest Company that restores nature across the UK and Europe through the power of music, culture and the arts. Since our launch in 2019, we have planted over 225,000 trees and built a growing network of artists, businesses, and communities committed to creating a sustainable future
As FWF transitions into an exciting new chapter, with the view of becoming a registered charity, we're looking to welcome several new Trustees to our board, including a Chair of Trustees. Trustees play an important role in helping shape the future of FWF, supporting our mission and ensuring we continue to grow our impact in a sustainable way.
What we’re looking for
Experienced and collaborative individuals with skills in areas such as organisational leadership, governance, finance, fundraising, business development and strategic planning to build a diverse and dynamic Trustee Board of up to seven new members (joining our existing board of founding trustees) bringing skills in the following areas:
1. Chair of Trustees Leadership, governance oversight, ambassadorial role.
2. Legal & Governance Trustee Charity/CIC law, compliance, Safeguarding Lead.
3. Finance & Audit Trustee (Treasurer) Financial strategy, audit, and risk.
4. Fundraising & Partnerships Trustee Grants, corporate sponsorship, philanthropy.
5. Communications & Media Trustee PR, storytelling, digital campaigns.
6. Organisational Development & HR Trustee Scaling structures, HR, diversity and inclusion, policies
7. Business Development & Strategy Trustee Social enterprise growth, commercial insight.
What you’ll bring
We're particularly keen to hear from people who are passionate about protecting nature and strengthening communities through culture.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
Previous trustee experience is welcome but not essential, what matters most is your expertise, your commitment, and your willingness and availability to contribute actively to our mission.
Commitment
Trustees typically attend quarterly board meetings (remote or in person in Brighton), engage in occasional working groups, can join in relevant FWF events and act as ambassadors for FWF. This is a voluntary role but offers the opportunity to make a substantial impact at a pivotal stage in FWF’s journey, whilst supporting to create a meaningful legacy for our planet.
