The Role:
To work as part of the University of Portsmouth’s Student Wellbeing team delivering high-quality, short-term counselling support to students, in line with Student Wellbeing’s commitment to promote the mental health, emotional wellbeing, and personal development of all students throughout their academic journey.

The role requires a qualified and registered counselling professional who can work independently to assess student needs and provide skilled, compassionate and student-centred interventions, while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

There are 2 positions available either working Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

Whilst there is a need to be in Portsmouth a few days a week, hybrid working is available to work from home 1 day per week.

An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check with Child & Adult Barred lists is required for this post.

Salary Information:

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
