Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Gym Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our fitness centre. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organisational skills, with experience in management and team supervision. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain a high standard of facility management. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance communication with diverse clientele. The Gym Duty Manager will be responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, promoting a positive environment, and supporting the overall success of the centre.
Duties
- Supervise daily gym operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all activities
- Lead, motivate, and manage staff, including scheduling shifts and delegating tasks
- Oversee membership services, including sales management and member engagement strategies
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for staff and members
- Handle customer enquiries professionally via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
- Manage merchandising activities within the centre to promote products and services effectively
- Organise staff training programmes to enhance team performance and organisational skills
- Maintain accurate administrative records related to attendance, sales, and operational reports
- Assist in resolving member concerns promptly while fostering a welcoming atmosphere
- Support promotional activities to increase centre visibility and membership growth
Qualifications
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a retail or fitness environment
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Demonstrable organisational skills with effective time management capabilities
- Experience in sales management, merchandising, and administrative tasks
- Ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining high standards of customer service
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting
- Proficient in handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with professional phone etiquette and customer-focused approach

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
