The Role
Our Team Manager is the backbone of our shop, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Their leadership and vision inspire our staff to deliver exceptional service and create a welcoming environment for our customers. By managing daily operations, resolving issues promptly, and fostering a positive team spirit, the Team Manager plays a crucial role in achieving our goals. The Team Manager’s dedication and expertise make them an indispensable part of our store, driving both our team and customer satisfaction to new heights.
Key responsibilities
People
- Ensure that our company values are promoted on a day to day basis in our stores through employees behaviours
- Ensure Customer Service is integrated into all that you do and that customer needs are met, complaints are documented, recorded and reported as intelligence
- Manage individual employees and team to ensure that daily tasks are achieved to the highest of standards
- Manage rotas, shift swaps, holiday requests, and other time off requests
- Manage lateness and sickness absences through return to works, absence review meetings and disciplinarys
- Manage poor performance of individual employees, providing feedback on day to day basis and formally taking them through a performance improvement plan or disciplinary
- Ensure that employees are fully trained in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and that this is recorded, monitored and updated as and when required.
Operational Tasks
- Ensure that the store is ready for trading at the start of every opening/ evening shift
- All faults, damages, freezer, site issues reported to the Retail Store Manager
- Manage stock rotations, replenishment and displays
- Task the labelling and pricing of products as requested from Store Support
Health and Safety
- All Health and Safety is up to date in terms of our legal obligations
- The necessary checks and records are maintained
- All risk assessments and fire safety checks are completed on a regular basis
Essential Criteria
- Must be able to demonstrate at least 3 years experience managing a team
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of what good customer service looks like and can deal with customer complaints including resolution
- Must demonstrate having knowledge and experience of working with SOPs
- Must know and understand the key elements of making a workplace and site safe and legal. As well as having dealt with maintenance responsibilities previously
Desirable Criteria
- ILM Level 3 Principles in Leadership and Management, or equivalent
- Health and Safety Certificate
- Food Safety Level 2
