Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli products in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. As a Deli Associate, you will play a key part in ensuring our customers enjoy high-quality products and a welcoming shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts according to company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and work surfaces
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their orders and offering product recommendations
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Manage stock levels, restocking shelves and rotating products as needed
- Upsell additional items to maximise sales opportunities
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain hygiene standards throughout shifts
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, restaurant service, or kitchen environments is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends if required
- Culinary or food service experience is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential
Hours of Work
The deli is open 5.30am- 11pm 7 days per week.
All Part Time members of staff are required to work 2/3 shifts per week- one shift of which includes a weekend shift (Saturday/ Sunday).
Pay: £9.75-£13.70 per hour
