Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our Building Division on a key project in Edinburgh. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Project Manager and wider Site Management team, playing a hands-on part in the successful delivery of a high-profile build project. You’ll be responsible for ensuring works are carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and programme, while maintaining accurate setting out and site records throughout.

Job Description
Typical Duties will include:
- Leading a small team of engineers and trainees on site, ensuring effective coordination and performance.
- Direct and check the work of site engineers and apprentices.
- Mentor and support junior team members, promoting continuous professional development.
- Oversee and manage site surveying activities, including:
o Maintaining site control network
o Establishing gridlines and datums
o Producing surveys data and asbuilt drawings
o Carrying out accurate and efficient setting out
- Ensure all survey and site equipment is appropriately tested, calibrated and fit for purpose.
- Plan and organise works effectively to ensure efficient site operations.
- Collaborate closely with the site team and subcontractors to ensure the delivery of the construction programme, recording progress and ensuring key milestones are achieved.
- Review issued drawings, identify clashes and discrepancies, and raise RFI’s/TQ’s to resolve them.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within areas of responsibility.
- Promote and uphold high standards of health and safety, leading by example at all times.
- Monitor and enforce Health, Safety & Environmental compliance across the site.
- Conduct Risk Assessment and Method Statement reviews prior to the commencement of works.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and regulations.
- Proactively identify technical challenges, implementing effective solutions to mitigate delays.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records, ensuring all relevant information is properly documented and reported.
- Raise quality issues and Non-Conformance Reports, ensuring timely and appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Review Inspection and Test Plans and develop quality checklists as required.
- Maintain a detailed and up-to-date site diary.
- Liaise effectively with consultants, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
- Undertake any additional duties as required by the Site Management to support the successful delivery of the project.

Technical Competencies
- Proven experience in a senior engineer role or a strong site engineer ready to step up. With experience on large scale construction projects (50M+)
- HND or Degree qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and construction compliance standards
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
