Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with an interest in catering, cooking, and food preparation to gain valuable experience within a professional setting. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, food safety practices, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support the catering team during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of meals
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and storage spaces
Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to ensure compliance with health standards
Help with the washing, peeling, chopping, and basic cooking tasks as directed by senior kitchen staff
Assist in setting up serving stations and replenishing supplies during service
Support the team in receiving and storing deliveries of ingredients and supplies appropriately
Contribute to a positive team environment by working collaboratively with colleagues

Skills

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous but not essential
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude would be an advantage but not essential
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
Willingness to learn new skills related to food handling and kitchen operations

Pay: £13.00 per hour
