Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Food and Beverage Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent service to guests in a dynamic hospitality environment, ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and drink, a welcoming attitude, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable, along with a strong understanding of food safety standards. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the food and beverage sector.

Duties

Serve food and beverages to customers in a courteous and efficient manner
Assist with food preparation and presentation as required
Take orders accurately and handle transactions using the point-of-sale system
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of dining areas, counters, and service stations
Replenish stock levels of food, beverages, and utensils throughout shifts
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards
Support barista duties if applicable, including preparing coffee and other hot drinks
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally
Assist in setting up event catering or special functions as needed

Skills

Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality environments is advantageous
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation skills
Familiarity with restaurant operations and customer service excellence
Barista experience is a plus, demonstrating ability to prepare quality hot drinks
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable manner
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Organised with good attention to detail to ensure high standards of service are maintained
