Full job description

We are seeking a Head of Finance for our highly regarded and progressive SME supplying the construction sector. With a strong reputation in its market and ambitious growth plans, the business is now seeking to appoint a Head of Finance in a newly created role.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this appointment has been created to bring the finance function back in-house from a previous group shared services environment. It offers a rare opportunity to build a modern, commercially focused finance function properly from the outset, with no legacy systems and a clear mandate to improve reporting, control and performance.

Key priorities will include the development of live reporting through Microsoft Business Central, together with the introduction of meaningful Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting to support stronger decision-making across the business. The role will also take ownership of cashflow management, forecasting, financial modelling, cost control, margin protection and day-to-day finance leadership, while managing a small team.

We are seeking a commercially astute, ambitious and tech-savvy finance professional with a strong track record in manufacturing. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of ERP implementation, finance systems integration and reporting improvement, together with the credibility to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing SME environment.

This role will particularly appeal to someone who is ready to step up into a true number one finance role, take full ownership of the function and work closely with the CEO in helping shape the next stage of growth.
