Full-Time Events Coordinator & Activity Leader
Location: Hybrid – Office based in Newton Abbot with travel across South Devon (Torquay, Brixham, Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and surrounding areas)
Salary: £12.71–£14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 35–40 hours per week (including occasional evenings and weekends)

As our company continues to grow, we're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and energetic Events Coordinator & Activity Leader to join our team.
About the Role
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
You'll split your time between organising events behind the scenes and leading activities with children out in schools and the community.
One day you could be organising a large Glow in the Dark Sports event, the next leading a holiday camp, visiting schools, supervising an international student excursion or helping develop exciting new programmes.
This role would suit someone who enjoys both administration and being active, thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves working with children.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Coordination
- Plan, organise and coordinate a wide variety of children's events.
- Schedule coaches, venues and equipment.
- Liaise with schools, parents and partner organisations.
- Produce event timetables and delivery plans.
- Manage event bookings and customer enquiries.
- Ensure events are fully staffed and prepared.
- Organise resources, transport and equipment.
- Support marketing campaigns and promotional events.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing programmes and introduce new events.
Activity Leadership
- Deliver engaging sports and activity sessions for children aged 4–16.
- Lead holiday camps and activity days.
- Deliver Glow in the Dark Sports sessions.
- Support wraparound childcare provision.
- Lead games, team challenges and enrichment activities.
- Deliver activities for international students during summer programmes.
- Supervise educational visits and excursions.
- Ensure every session is fun, inclusive and well organised.
Administration
- Respond to emails and telephone enquiries.
- Maintain booking systems and registers.
- Produce risk assessments where required.
- Assist with Ofsted paperwork and compliance.
- Prepare registers, session plans and resources.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Monitor stock and equipment.
Customer Service
- Build positive relationships with schools, parents and community organisations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Represent Sporty Stars professionally at all times.
- Ensure customer feedback is acted upon and standards remain high.

Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent time management.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
- Safeguarding and Child Protection Training (or willingness to complete).
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable Experience
- Sports coaching qualifications.
- Holiday camp leadership.
- Event planning or event management.
- Education or childcare experience.
- Customer service experience.
- Marketing or social media knowledge.
- Experience working with international students.
- Ofsted childcare knowledge.
- Outdoor activity leadership.
