Business Administration Apprentice

Meridian Upholstery | Newton Aycliffe | Full-Time Apprenticeship

Meridian Upholstery is a growing British upholstery manufacturer, supplying handmade sofas and furniture to leading UK retailers, independent stores, commercial clients and interior projects.

We are looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our office team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to learn how a real manufacturing business works from the inside — from customer orders and supplier purchasing through to production planning, administration and customer communication.

This role would suit someone who is organised, confident, willing to learn and looking for a long-term career with progression.

The Role

As our Business Administration Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the office across a range of areas, including:

Processing customer orders and checking information is correct
Helping with customer enquiries by phone and email
Supporting the ordering of raw materials, fabrics, foams and components
Liaising with suppliers for updates, delivery dates and missing information
Updating internal systems, spreadsheets and records
Supporting the office team with general administration
Helping track order progress from customer order through to production
Assisting with paperwork, filing, data entry and document control
Working with the sales, production and purchasing teams to keep information accurate
Learning how orders move through the business from enquiry to delivery

This is an all-round office role with exposure to several areas of the business, so no two days will be the same.

Comfortable using computers and willing to learn systems
Good with detail and accuracy
Able to follow processes and check information carefully
Positive, professional and keen to learn
Able to work as part of a team
Interested in building a long-term career in business administration, customer service, purchasing or operations

You do not need previous office experience, but you must have the right attitude and be willing to learn.
