Looking for a new challenge?

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We have an opportunity to join our well-established Day Centre Service as a Support Worker at Meadowbank Resource Centre in Carrickfergus. This is a permanent role, working 10.5 hours per week: Wednesday and Friday, 9:15am-2:30pm, paying £13.00 per hour.

The service runs Monday to Friday, so you won't need to work weekends; ideal if you're looking for a good work-life balance in the care sector. The service also benefits from four weeks of fixed leave across the year, covering Easter, July, and the Christmas and New Year period.

You'll be supporting people with a range of complex needs, including sensory loss and learning disabilities, to take part in the activities they love, whether that's sports, cooking, trips to the theatre, or heading out into the community. No two days will be the same.

Please note: a full driving licence is essential for this role.

We are looking for someone who is:

Positive, with a can-do attitude
Caring and empathetic
Passionate about enhancing other people's lives
Willing to attend training as needed to support you in your role

This role in Carrickfergus might include supporting people with:

Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning
Personal care and hygiene
Managing their finances
Medication and wellbeing
Going into the community for shopping or other trips
Their social life and leisure activities

You don't need previous experience to join us as a Support Worker, we'll give you full training to get you started.
