About SJH Fulfilment
SJH Fulfilment is a Northern Ireland-based third-party logistics (3PL) company on a mission to be the best fulfilment partner for scaling e-commerce brands. Founded in Kilkeel, Co. Down, we've grown from a small team to processing over one million products every year for more than 70 brands across a variety of sectors, with our core focus on fashion, beauty, and wellness. From day one, our growth has been built on relationships - with our clients, our team, and our community. What makes us different is our position as one of the only 3PLs that can serve both the UK and EU markets seamlessly. Thanks to Northern Ireland's unique status under the Windsor Framework, our clients can ship cross-border without the complexity that holds so many other fulfilment businesses back. That's our edge - and it's a real one.
Our Belfast Move
In August 2026, SJH opens the doors to our brand-new 46,000 sq ft facility at Maryland Industrial Estate, Belfast. This is the single most significant milestone in our company's history. Our Kilkeel site has developed over the years, but we've reached the limits of what it can hold until plans are passed for our 60,000 sqft facility at Kilkeel Harbour. With demand from existing clients growing and a strong pipeline of new brands wanting to work with us, we needed to expand - and Belfast is the right place to do it. The Maryland site gives us the space, the location, and the infrastructure to scale properly. Closer to Belfast port, better transport links, and room to grow into a genuine hub-and-spoke operation across Northern Ireland. This isn't just a bigger building. It's the foundation for everything we're building toward - a business that reaches £5M+ in revenue by 2029, employs 45+ people, and becomes the go-to 3PL for e-commerce brands that want to scale across the UK and EU without the headache. We're hiring the right people to help us get there. If you want to be part of a team that's growing with purpose - not just adding headcount - this Warehouse Operative role could be exactly what you're looking for.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows warehouse operations inside out and is ready to take the next step. As Team Leader, you'll be responsible for a shift or section of our new Belfast warehouse - keeping the team focused, the workflow moving, and the standards high. You'll be working closely with our Head of Operations and playing a direct role in shaping how this site runs from day one. This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage from the sidelines. You'll be on the floor, leading by example, solving problems in real time, and making sure your team has what they need to do their best work. In return, you'll be part of the management team building something genuinely ambitious - and there's real room to grow with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and motivating a team of warehouse operatives across inbound, picking, packing, and dispatch functions
- Allocating tasks and managing workload across your shift to hit daily throughput and accuracy targets
- Overseeing goods-in processes - ensuring stock is booked in accurately to racking, shelving, and pick faces
- Managing the pick and pack operation to client SOP standards, maintaining quality and efficiency
- Conducting and overseeing cycle counts and stock takes, escalating discrepancies promptly
- Supporting value added service (VAS) delivery for 3PL clients - kitting, labelling, and bespoke fulfilment tasks
- Carrying out daily team briefings, safety checks, and performance check-ins
- Identifying and escalating operational issues before they become problems
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new starters within your team
- Acting as a key point of contact between the warehouse floor and site management
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a warehouse or 3PL environment, with at least some supervisory or team leadership responsibility
- Strong operational knowledge across inbound, picking, packing, and dispatch - you understand the full flow
- Natural leadership ability - people follow you because they trust you, not because they have to
- High attention to detail, particularly around inventory accuracy and compliance with client requirements
- Confident communicator who can give clear direction and give honest, constructive feedback
- Comfortable working at pace and making decisions quickly when things don't go to plan
- Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach) desirable - support to obtain available if not held
- Basic IT literacy for warehouse management systems and reporting
What You'll Get
- £14.60 per hour, annual company bonus, healthcare plan, pension
- A genuine leadership role from the ground up at a brand-new site - not inheriting someone else's problems
- Forklift and operational training funded by us where applicable
- Clear career progression pathway toward Warehouse Manager as we scale
- Real input into how the Belfast site operates - this is a founding team role
- A values-led business where people are genuinely valued and heard
